Our Capabilities:

CarbonZerø in the Logistics Sector

Helping leaders and organizations rewrite the climate math equation

The logistics and transport sector is responsible for over a third of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, making it the largest-emitting sector in many countries.

Freight transportation alone contributes around 8% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and when warehousing operations are added, this figure rises to 11%

A sector with such a significant impact on global emissions has a critical role to play in the transition to a decarbonized future         .   To align with the Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2050 Scenario, CO2 emissions from the transport sector must fall by more than 3% annually until 2030. Investors and financial markets are increasingly demanding a compelling environmental, social, and governance (ESG) plan and a path to net-zero carbon emissions.

Regulations and directives, guided by the Paris Agreement, are pushing companies towards low- and zero-emission operations. The logistics value chain is often one of the largest contributors to a company's Scope 3 emissions under the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, making it crucial for businesses to address this to meet their sustainability commitments.

How does it work:

We help clients assess the full potential of their sustainability efforts and analyze implications for portfolio, green growth, and decarbonization. We also help them communicate their strategies and the reasoning behind them to the capital markets. At the same time, we issue carbon credits for our clients' projects using UN-CDM methodology.

The project activity shall implement one or more of the following measures: (a) Idling stop device; (b) Eco-drive systems; (c) Tire-rolling resistance improvements; (d) Air-conditioning system improvements; (e) Use of low viscosity oils; (f) Aerodynamic drag reduction measures; (g) Transmission improvements; (h) Retrofits that improve engine efficiency

Using industry-leading guidelines such as UN-CDM methods or ISO 14083, we ensure best practices for calculating and reporting emissions from freight transportation and logistics.

We identify the suppliers, technologies, and developers needed to remove carbon from the supply chain, focusing on improving the carbon footprint.

Emissions that were unable to avoid are offset with high-integrity carbon credits from environmental projects aligned with the company ESG strategy.

We provide all the data and relevant information throughout the neutralization process for the the company internal use of sustainability report.

Whether you’re dealing with passenger or freight transport, managing multi-element supply chains, or just beginning your decarbonization journey, CarbonZerø is here to support your transition.

Optimizing and neutralizing the transport chain is essential not only for logistics companies but also for businesses that rely on outsourced logistics services. CarbonZerø has been helping companies move goods in the cleanest, most efficient way possible, reporting emissions and identifying viable technologies and strategies for emission reductions.
